Id like bigger .
6000 lb axle is 1.75" bore . I have 100 ( 25580 )
bigger axle has a 2.25" bore . i have 4 ( ? 387 )
I have trouble with Harbor Fright parts dept ,
They have a 12 by 36" Gear-Head lathe .
These tapered rollers are very light duty . Thats fine .
BTW 518 Welder "combo" from Longevity-inc has
2 high freq transformers . parallel for stick and TIG ,
then series outputs for PLASMA cutting .
Uses MOSFETs * 12 . .... 25 amp/500vdc
Variable control also works in stick and TIG .
For very thin welding , start arc at 100 amps , then turn it down to
20 amps !
NICE !
But i tossed the heavy foot control box . Strap the light wt pot
to your left arm
Harbor Fright $200 Stick/TIG is also variable . I have 5 .
It uses IGBT in a half bridge , thus needs a huge Cap to
ac couple the transformer . There is a much simpler , more
reliable method . If i can cut the IGBT into 2 sep' NPN's ,ill
do it someday .
It has easy swap front connections , but
electrodes and Plasma ,
are always negative ,
to stay cooler than workpiece .
Electrons bombard anode to make it far hotter than cathode .
HF has a Plasma , $650 . Has a pilot arc . i have 2 .
works well , cuts a very narrow qerf in .058" steel .
Crazy idea ...
dumpster diving for steel crate banding , removed from big bundles
of
steel square tubing ...
I am using 1.75" wide steel banding by 6" long as springs on a
small cart ,
i bundle 10 of them together . Adjustable spring constant , and
riding ht .
sliders can shorten the length and reduce range .
Old VW car used this , in front springs .
Beats coil springs . adjusts easier .
