activated carbon filters will remove a lot of chemicals, but they are
not microbiologically safe. *IOW they don't filter out protozoa and
such. *So I have 3 in-line filters.
1st is sediment removal (very inexpensive)
2nd is activated carbon (about $20/cartridge)
3rd is chemical removal (off the wall expensive)
Which systems are you using?

Nobody at this residence drinks untreated tap water. *Not even my
birds, dogs and cats.
