Heating cpmpanies often have equipment to do a blower door test for
about 300$ and you get a computer printout. Id say you need an energy
audit, your utility co may do it. 150$ how many square ft, what kind
of heat system. windows, what R values do you have.www.energystar.gov
is a good place to learn. 150 yr lucky I will pay maybe 3500.00 this
month.

$150 for December. Just under 8 MCF. The trouble is, I don't know what to=

believe
as there is a fault on the billing, cause I can't really tell if its esti=

mated or actual.

1000 sq ft upstairs, and I partially insulated the basement, but don't
worry about keeping that up to temperature right now. I'm still remodling=

..
there is 1000 sq ft downstairs also. Parts of it are fully exposed to
the outside, or above ground.
Added at least R25 in attic, normal R11 in walls plus brick. Added 9,
all but one new windows installed myself this fall for about $1500.

I wanted to know the name of the test so I could refer a friend. he uses =

4 times
what I use. My normal electricity bills are usually under $50 a month
with air conditioning, but can increas a bit if I get into using electric
heaters, especially the 4800 watt garage heater, separate from the house.
When I moved the old gas company was expensive, but the new company
is now charging what the old one was charging 4-5 years ago.
They say its comming down.

You need an energy audit, 150 is cheap how cold does it get there.
What is summer Ng bill for HW, cooking, dryer. 50$ electric with AC?
Thats real cheap also. Do you use CFLs

I use CFL's almost exclusively. I have 5 on all the time. Well I have been trying to
put automatic controls on the outside lamps. With another person my bills are
more like $60 average now. My electricity is about half what it was in the
old house.

I do not need an energy audit. Another person needed one and I was trying
to think of the term "energy audit". I know how to test my house.
