I have a motorized retractable Markilux awning that I love. At $6,000+ w/
installation, it's on the expensive end but it has functioned beautifully
for 18 months in a windy site. Recently sold the home and the awning
became a significant selling point. However, I want to take it with me and
hoped to find information roof mount at this site. Markilux quoted us
over $1,500 for parts and installation. I suspect it can be done, and done
well, for half that price.

Sounds like a sail just waiting for a wind, to me. Two friends have
had
them. Each are on their second one. Their first ones were taken by
the
wind when they were left deployed.

An expensive sail if you ask me. Too many moving parts. Mounting is
suspect.

But, hey, if they work for you, and you want one, go for it.
