eBay is not a good place to buy sophisticated test equipment. Nor a good
place to buy other selected items.

It's not necessarily dishonesty; it's often ignorance. Many erbay sellers
are "professionals" and buy their merchandise via all kinds of sources and
often have no clue as to what they are selling or how to evaluate the items.
