I think you should butt up the top one first up against the ceiling

get a tight joint, then do the bottom one. You can leave space at

It's much easier my way. I have a 1/4 inch strip of plywood that I lay
on the floor along the wall.


Then do you ever have to shave 1/16" off the top?
