Has ATT/Comcast managed to kill this group?

I see your post, so, no.

The low posting rate is due to no electronics questions being asked
on
S.E.D.

All the sci.electronics groups seem to be gummed up with spam!

I see very little spam from Supernews. I have set a few filters in
Agent, with regard to shoes and such.

Same here.

Since you mention supernews, have you noticed that there's sometimes
no valid route to it?

Happens here and I'm trying to ascertain if it's supernews or the ISP.

A route trace tells me supernews has their ICMP TTL screwed up
creating false hops.

Once in a while they seem to go offline for 30 second or so, but not
often. I think Supernews was acquired by someone lately, but I use
them just the same. I suppose I should try the Forte (Agent) server
and save a little money.

OK. Well, maybe it's my ISP then, or someone who 'just happens' to be
in the path because it goes 'inaccessible for up to hours at a time
here.

Funny you should mention that, there have been problems recently with the
Virginmedia news server - which since they seemed to be fixed after a flood
of complaints on the VMTS group, I'd assumed it was a 'local' problem.

Using OE to post, it fails with Server error 441 - Error number 0x800CCCA9,
attempting to open a message gives "message no longer on server" type
message and Xnews simply states "No new messages" when a group is opened.
