CAT 5 only describes the performance characteristics of the cable. It
has nothing to do with how many pairs are in the cable.

That is why I asked if 2 pair cat 5 cable exists?

And using all
pairs of 4 pair cable is not unusual in computer work with GigE being
the most common current example.

Can you use 2 pair cable for 100Mhz ethernet?
