Default Present Idea For Turners

For turners who are looking for ideas for Christmas presents this'll
give you a lot of practice spindle turning - a vertical jewelry box -
without the box - a jewelry tree. Unlike a jewelry box with lots of
dividers and trays, this keeps everything out where it's a) visible and
b)keeps chains from tangling.

Even though the little spindles that things hang on are small and
relatively short, there are a LOT of them. In this example there are 32
of the little suckers. The base, spacers, hubs and finial add another
10 parts to turn. You can mix and match woods and most of this one can
be turned from 3/4 x 3/4 and 1/2x1/2 scraps - or pen blanks.

Does require some way of indexing things for drilling the holes for the
spokes and a shop jig for the drill so the holes can be drilled at
centerline.

Will post pics - if and when I get the first one done - out of elm,
maple, bloodwood, yellow heart, claro walnut, rosewood and probably some
ebony.
