The question; would I be better off using a long thin band that stretches a
lot, or a shorter but thicker band? Its all about stored energy I reckon.

How about water jets fed by a screen washer pump triggered by passive
infra red sensors? Oh and is there any truth in the story that lion crap
will scare cats away?
