Yes and unless further research, archaeological and historic evidence
comes to light we are all descended from the same group of
individuals; originally in Africa! See PS.

So my distant, distant, cousins can be anybody from a beer swilling,
racist, gun toting ignoramus in say Tennessee, a sheep herder in the
French Pyrenees, the Dalai Lama or the Pope.

Generally in my few travels have found most people to want much the
same for themselves and their children etc. But are often constrained
by ignorance, prejudice and/or, frequently, religion and/or the
society they live in. Especially if they have not travelled and lived
elsewhere than the area they were born.

BTW: Every religious group or cult seems to think that only they have
the 'One true way'! And every 'culture' (especially Americans) seem to
think that their way of living is the best! Even when better systems
are sometimes staring them in the face just short inter-continental
distances away.

It will be a huge shock some millenium when we humans finally realise
we are just another life form born of the original 'Big bang' and that
as individuals we might just as well be living under a rock on Mars or
as a microbe next to volcanic vent in the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
Doesn't matter if we have five or seven fingers or what colour our
outer surface is!

That's if this current 'civilization', if indeed it is one, even lasts
that long. We may all be polluted out of existence, run out of water,
be subject to acid rain, crop failures, global warming, be flooded out
(New Orleans and Katrina was just a minor event by the way; wait
another 100 years to see what's in store!) see severe over populations
and so on.

But it's really hard to understand 'what them white folks is afraid
of'. If one 'species' or a branch of it in this case, can't survive,
nature predicts that it will die out, or at least be reduced in number
to where it better fits into the overall natural plan.

Essentially it comes down to food. For example;

If the sun gets stronger maybe we can grow more food? If it gets
weaker maybe we will grow less? If the world gets hotter or colder
food growing patterns may change? If water is scarcer, as it already
is in many places, human behaviour must/will change.

Maybe a few more million of us should move back to Africa and make a
go of it this time, without being captured and transported as slaves
or brutalised by European colonial governments.

Also btw, various revolutions, including the American War of
Independence have shown that all people try to arrange their own
affairs, within certain systems of society and government.
