As I understand it, Loctite hardens in the absence of air (anaerobic).
The general
removal method for the red stuff is to heat 250C (482F) or so and then
unscrew. It is
not a theromoplastic locker.

I'd say the effectiveness was destroyed.

Make a witness mark before unscrewing, count the revs or measure very
accurately. On second thought, do both.
