Did you seperated out the brake and clutch to the individual hand-
grips, or is one of them a dump release? Is the clutch set up for
"squeeze-to-disengage", or is it "hold-to-keep-moving" like a
snowblower?

There separate levers for the brake & clutch. "Dump" is another lever.
Squeeze to engage, with a latching mechanism.
