When at uni in the 80's, I had a lecturer who'd been a design
engineer at Hewlett Packard. HP had a couple of guys who's sole purpose
in life was to test all products/equipment to destruction in as many
ways as they could devise.

The engineers called them "Frankenstein and Egor".
