I'd guess the legs are closer to 2.25-2.5" square, the front tail is
probably 5.5" and the legs don't look half that width. The site states the
finial ball is 3" tall, not just the ball but the whole finial. The site
states that the end panels are 30" high, I'd say the front tail is half
that
at the top and or 15" from floor to the top of the rail.

Rounded over edges will always make a post or leg look bigger than if
leaving the edges sharp.

What are you calling the tail? I am a newbie so please forgive me!
