Can anyone help with some of the dimensions by looking at this? FOr
example, what would you say the posts are, 3x3??

How high would you say the front rail is?

LOL ... all the clues you need are on the page.

Extrapolate, using the photograph, from the following:

This daybed uses a standard twin-size mattress.
The Wooden Slat Support system is 15 inches from the floor.
Trundle Dimensions - 76L x 40W x 13H inches
Side panel measures 33 inches high and the finial ball is 3 inches high.
Mattress Dimensions- 68L x 38W x 5D inches
Dimensions:81.5L x 41.6W x 45.5H

Then make a scale drawing on graph paper and test the proportions. This is
where skill with a CAD, or drawing program like SketchUp comes in handy in
woodworking when no plans area available.

You do it, though ... practice really helps for future attemps.
