Hrm... What I meant was + going to each speaker and the - from each speaker
joined together (or to the car frame). Doesn't like like you do though.
The only time I've had a stereo doing that was when the speakers were too
low an impedence, so the amp got too hot and shut off to protect itself.
I don't think it would be fuses, but a self resetting circuit breaker.

| what do you mean by tied together? from the head unit each speaker pair
has
| positive and negative which is connected to the speaker positive and
| negative.... not sure i understand your question completely... i have it
| wired pretty much like this:

|
| Could it be the wires, no big enough gauge? Fuse, but if it was fuse it
| would blow not just cut out right?

| Do you have the ground for each speaker tied together?

| | | Hi,
| | |
| | | I have a Sony head unit (CDX-MP70) RMS 23x4 Peak 52x4. I have it
| hooked
| | up
| | | to 4 Infinity Kappa 62.5i 6.5 speakers. When I turn up the volume
| maybe
| | a
| | | little less than half way or more on the head unit the unit cuts
| | out/shuts
| | | off, then in about 5 seconds it pops back on and continues
playing,
| but
| | will
| | | cut out again if I don't lower the volume.
| |
| | What impedence are the speakers? What impedence does the headunit
| support?
| |
| |
| |
