Thats not actually true according to my pet lawyer. In order to
protect your house you have to get public liability insurance

It really depends. If you have a limited liability company then the
directors (and hence their assets) are potentialy on the line in cases
of negligence or fraud. Otherwise they're not (unless e.g. you
personally guarantee the debts of the company).
