What I've seen posted so far is in dire need of layers.
Draw on layer 0 and move it another layer. You can group
objects so that when you dimension them you can turn off
all of the layers that aren't necessary. If everything is
on the same layer you have no ability to show the details
of just one piece by zooming in and creating a "scene".
Just got into layers about an hour before you posted this.
Different mindset altogether from CAD, makes sense, but I
keep losing things.

If you follow his tutorial for the end table you'll know most of
what you need to know to draw 95% of wood projects.
