Not mentioned because the typical turntable design:
(a) is not capable of supporting significant weight,
(b) rotates _at_least_ TEN TIMES too fast, and is not easily
slowed down.

(c) wouldn't have enough power to spin anything heavy anyway, and the
20-year-old belt would break.
