This is a Woodbadge Scouter talking. :-)


The last time the bears found something at the council camp it was a Scout
Master's lean-to and personal possessions that got trashed by the bear (not
our group). This isn't the kind of irresponsible example we like to set for
the boys... There are no bear boxes on the sites and the camp has an
electric fence around the dumpsters to discourage the bears. They had to
destroy one bear that came back several times after being relocated and
having food/snacks in the tents would likely lead to more being destroyed...
Goodies have to be consumed and the waste removed to the dumpsters before
bed!
