I've been there. Or rather, the province. Jeddah is where I have been and
Tahlia area (big shopping mall, nice people).
There's a fruit juice stand at the corner of the mall with the best ever
juices. I had a Kiwi juice better than any I found in Australia. Also a
blueberry juice that was better than any I had in the states. The
watermelon one was pretty good too! I guess you can tell it was high summer
when I was there so spent much time at the fruit juice stand.
My only other memory there of note was a sight for the first time of a plant
in my yard that is purple leaved and about 1ft (33cm roughly) tall. No one
here knows what it's called but it's in a bedding area along the route to
Thalia street. It has thick fleshy leaves a bit like a sword plant (all
purple) and small flowers with a wonderful delicate scent. It dies down in
winter when it freezes but comes back every year.
