Hi,
Battery can be tested with meter and a 12V light bulbs.
Are brushes worn out? Is the commutator show a sign of groove?
Well, brushes seems still quite a bit left. But if I know where to get new
ones, I would easily replace it.
The motor commuatator looks OK. I know of wipe and clean it a bit.
Meter measurement of batteries seems OK. But cannot test how strong is the
charged current.
My test of the battery was how far I could mow before the indicator got to
the yellow area. When new I could mow the entire lawn. Over the years this
got less and less until last year I could only do half of the back yard.
After 8 years I expect the battery needing replacing and ponied up the
money and replaced and now I am back to being able to mow the whole lawn
again.
