Obviously you didn't get the point since you only looked at that one
sentence rather than the context.

Nope ... I just "quoted" the one sentence so that you might better get the
point.

So to explain it clearly -- if relying on
what the internet information found involves stupidity if someone is

looking
for information about an operating system then it would seem that coming
here to get information about wood turning is the same stupidity.

Classic "post hoc ergo propter hoc" logic ... IOW, flawed.

And, the word is "ignorance", not "stupidity" ... ignorance is curable and
has no shame attached to it, unless it is willful.

Everyone is ignorant to some extent.

If you come here for advice on "wood turning" you are admittedly ignorant of
the information you are requesting, otherwise you wouldn't be seeking it.

If the person giving you the information/advice is also ignorant of "wood
turning", which happens frequently on the Internet, where does that leave
you?

Still ignorant.

Now repeat that bad/ignorant advice/information and spread if far and wide
over the Internet ... hell, you read it on the Internet, so it has to be
true, right?

Now, replace "wood turning" with "brain surgery" and see if that helps you
better understand that it is risky to take at face value any "information"
you receive on the Internet.

The same goes for "opinions".
