Was it paid for by Credit Card and how much was it?

yes she did pay by credit card was only 29 pound but she a single
parent who does not have money to loose like that was done through
google checkout

I think that's below the amount whereby the credit card company
have a legal liability, although many will still pursue it for you.

The other thing is that if google checkout works like paypal, the
card company will treat it as a cash payment to google checkout,
not payment for goods -- they would send you to google checkout to
get your money back. Having a glance through the google checkout
pages, there doesn't seem to be any possibility to do this once
a seller has folded, which would make google checkout an extremely
bad choice for paying for items if that is the case.
