The most anoying thing is that I bought the larger one specialy to power
a Carputer that ive made, because at the time i didnt think my existing
300watt detroit inverter was upto the job. But it was. I only tried it
with the cigaret lighter output. Not direct to a battery which i did
later when the larger model also failed from the lighter output. All It
needed was a bigger feed cable. The smaller 300 watt model does not have
the low volt cut out like its bigger brother. It works perfectly well
even without the engine running, which is exactly what I wanted. Though
I should image that it would burn out over time due to its limited
output. The larger one fails realy easily which is dead anoying. It
doesnt even turn off when it fails. It keeps it own fans going, but just
kills the outputs which is totaly pointless. To reset the thing you have
to turn it off and on again.
Any info on this kind of thing is welcome. Thanks
How do you connect the high power one to the battery? If you use the
cigarette lighter output, you may be getting too much of a voltage drop.
My unit requires a direct connect to the battery if the wattage is above
150 watts. Below that, the cigarette lighter output is OK.

I have now taken a Very large cable from the battery via a dedicated fuse.
The sort that is uded for audio amps. Its around the thinkness of a starter
motor cable, so its beefy enough.
The cigarette Lighter socket aint good enough for any of them. This New
Cable is fine for both.
Well it would be if the low volt breaker didnt keep tripping out.
