All that would be necessary to cause today's prices to plumment
would be government's absence.

Either that, or possibly medical costs would fall into line with real
estate costs and your $ 150 fracture would now cost $ 6,300.00

Comparisons with costs of forty years ago is not a very valid way
to make sensible claims cf "government's" role in society or cost
structures.
