This is not a humid env, it is a material problem from what the Bosch
service guy told me.

Magnesium was not a wise choice of materials by Bosch; that stuff
oxidizes horribly even in the best of environments. I would suggest a
periodic coating of a petroleum jelly based product such as "Slipit":
