Discover Islam - The Fastest Growing Religion in the world
Fastest growing? WTF does that mean? More sheep?
"Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe
nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just
because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is
said
to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else
believes
it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true." Buddha
Considering that the above statement itself falls under at least two of the
categories mentioned - "ancient books" and "divine origin" - it is not to
be believed.
How so? The statements say: "Don't believe just because," not: "Don't
believe because." That "just" is a pretty powerful word in in that
quotation. Either that or it's a koan.
