If blowing out the inside of the motor doesn't help, get some body to
check the run capacitor on the motor. If this is defective you will have
the same symptoms as you are experiencing. Much cheaper to replace than
the motor. Hope this helps.

well i took it off but there isnt anything to blow out. TEFC sealed
from dust. priced the capacitor and the motor. i have no way to test a
capacitor or the motor for that matter and the motor is more than half
the price of the lathe and capacitor is over 60 bucks plus shipping
and maybe tax! i doubt i am gonna pay that much to fix it. guess i
gotta get my christmas list started.....been lusting after a
powermatic LOL. i have another lathe to use in the mean time. thanks
for all the help folks.
