If it is multi-point locking then no striker release is made and you will
have to resort to a door magnet as used in most offices.
If however it is a single mortice you will need to look and see if it has
a spring loaded latch or uses a slide action to lock the door.

If spring action you can obtain a mortice lock release unit.

Thanks - it is an inward opening door. The latch is a spring operated thing
with a roller on the end. I am not sure if this also locks the door - or if
there is a separate bolt.
