When I first clicked on the link, it opened in a window which only the upper
half of the figure was viewable. I was sure she was turning counter
clockwise (viewed from above)

When I opened it full screen, I saw the shadow of her right foot as it
passed into view and she was clearly spinning clockwise.

What the heck does that mean.
