Default picture problem

Hi!

Could someone tell me what the problem is and is it worth having
fixed?

The problem is likely to be bad solder, especially if the picture appears
correctly for even a short period of time. Does slapping or jarring the
set
cause the picture to change in any detectable way?

If you stop using the set and take it to a competent repair shop that you
reasonably believe to be trustworthy, the set can be repaired. If it was
working well prior to this failure, a repair will be worthwhile.
Continuing
to use the set may result in more costly damage or damage to the picture
tube. Note that some Zenith sets from the 90s had bad picture tubes.

But a bad picture tube would not produce a narrow line across the screen.

Televisions contain high voltage and power line connected parts. You
should
not take one apart unless you know what you are up to.
