Default HELP needed with NAKAMICHI RX-202

wrote in message
ups.com...
I just bought a Nakamichi RX-202 cassette recorder/player.
The FF & RW won't work.
I've been told it is a bad IDLER TIRE.
Can someone point me to where this TIRE is?

Thanks,
Terry

If you mean where it is in the machine, it's behind the plate where the
cassette sits. A couple of screws hold the plate in. If you mean where to
buy one, here is a place I found that sells them:
http://www.vintage-electronics.cc/nakamichikits.html

If you've never removed one of those idlers before you have to be very
careful because if you push too hard trying to remove the little clip that
holds it, you'll break the idler arm.

If you're not familiar with this kind of mechanical repair, take it to an
expert.
