for a newly installed gas combi boiler, what paperwork & documentation
should I be left with before I pay up?
All manuals which came with the boiler (installation, user, etc);
it's a legal requirement that the installer leaves these with the owner.
The benchmark booklet/card, filled in with the commissioning settings.
These days this document seems to be a page or two of the installation
manual.
I don't know if you get left anything relating to Part L registration.
Yes the installer should be able to self certify installation complies
with Part L and J (the letter is achieved by following the installation
manual). You should receive a document through the post from CORGI.
It is also requirement the the installer shows you how to use the
new heating system.
Most guarantee registrations also require the installer to fill in at
least part of it.
