I vote for a bandsaw, or certainly some kind of saw as the large piece
of scrap material is removed without having to be turned into chips.

You win the prize, the bandsaw/wire edm/laser removes "areas" of material,
beating all other methods, well, except one....

Intelligent design. That has the potential to remove stock faster than
anything.
