I went to my Dr to get it checked out and he did a blood count to see if
my white count was elevated to eliminate the possibility of internal
bleeding. I got a normal count. Thank the Lord. He called it a severe
hematoma and was advised to keep ice on it for 2 or 3 days.

I got a severe hematoma once. It was very painful. My dentist nicked a blood
vessel while putting some novacaine in me. I ended up with a very large
ball bulging out from my neck. Between the pain meds, ice and a lot of rest,
most of it went away in about three days. It took about a week before
normalcy was restored. I have no desire to repeat that experience again.

Good to see that the only real injury was to your pride. Those kinds of
injuries are far better than other kinds. And try to not do any heavy
lifting for a few days. ;-)
