that may be what you are after.

Thanks for that link. Alas, the size seems to be too small. I need
one with a 5 inch width.

I found a telephone with a 320x80 display. I can get that model
telephone cheap from a liquidation house. Sadly, as near as I can
tell, its LCD is slightly too large.
