My attached pic is a joint line over 4 inches long and cut on the TS with
a Dubby Jig and Forrest WWII.
I suspect the OP's real problem is cutting the parallel pieces to the
exact same length to each other.
That and if the stock isn't straight, or doesn't stay straight, the miters
can fail to close up nicely...

The WWII does do a nice job.
