ding on exposure consider French Polish with shellac and pumice.

I'm refinishing an old oak table. Been working on it for months.
Posted pictures of it last fall. Top, top skirt and legs are
stripped. Still have a frame piece and the lower shelf to strip.
Top is glued back together.....it is tounge and grove boards that
were held together with animal hide glue. Looks good, but wife wants
a mirror finish on the top. How do I do that with white oak. Read
somewhere (can't remember where) about wet sanding and using the slur
produced by the sanding to fill in the natural low places inherient
with the oak grain. Any help would be much appreciated.
