Sure it can be done--it's just a matter of money. I suspect there is
more involved to your plan than you are thinking. Without knowing any
spans, it seems like a new ridge beam by itself will require new posts
and new footings. Also, what are you going to set the heels of the
rafters on? It all can be done, yes, but it ain't gonna be cheap.
Might want to look into scissor trusses too.
