Default Slippery laminate stairs

Well I think you're definitely on the right track. You could go with a continuous runner, or separate treads (do a Google
image search for "carpet treads"), which you might be able to install yourself and would probably trap less dust.

If a carpet store hasn't heard of a runner for stairs, they're pretty clueless - it's a pretty common term! I'd keep calling
around.

Hi,

Because of severe allergy, I replaced the entire carpet area in my
home with laminate/pergo a few months ago, including stairs, by
laminate specialists.

Since then my 4 year old son slipped couple of times on the way up or
down and got injuired with a big bruise on his nose at one time couple
of days ago.

Now, it's late but I need to take immediate actions for safety to
prevent more accidents from happening by the slippery stairs.

I heard that installing stair runners (made of rug/carpet) could be
one option. Otherwise, replacing them back with carpet.

Having called several local carpet stores, I couldn't get clear
convincible advices, and most of them either were reluctant to suggest
the stair runners or even have never heard of stair runners.

Any good suggestions for the best way to fix this situation?

Thanks much in advance!
