Default Things That Make You Go Hmmmmmmm

I've been playing with the Festool DOMINO (that I paid for out
of my own pocket - no freebie, no special price, no connection
to Festool or any of their resellers). This thing looks like a
biscuit joiner - but it definitely ain't. It's something entirely
new - or rather - it does something very old - in a new way.
And the possibilities it provides is, and will, change how I
think of how projects will be put together.

Apparently you can get tooling to make your own fluted lengths that will
fit Domino holes so you can use a wood of your choice. I have yet to
read a bad review over this side of the pond. Most common reaction: this
will change how I think of how projects will be put together.

Also, fixed base routers are beginning to invade this side of the pond.
A real cultural cross fertilisation ;-) Me? I can sort of see an
advantage in the table but otherwise? no.
