Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida residents: do not use the DE from your
pool
Date April 10, 2007

Oh dear, yesterdayıs news round-up missed the Tampa Bay CBS news
websiteıs article about bed bugs, which kindly directed many Tampa
residents here.

Well, I wish Iıd seen it yesterday, so I could have warned more of the
folks from Tampa. The CBS article isas originally posted, was wrong: do
NOT use the diatomaceous earth (DE) designed for pools in your home to
fight bed bugs. Itıs dangerous. Use food grade freshwater DE instead.
See our FAQ on the subject. (CBS 10 has now updated its article to
reflect the dangers of pool grade DE.)

We also have FAQs about what to do if you think you have bed bugs. Hint:
the first step is not, as the article states, to treat yourself, the
second is not to have a PCO apply one aerosol, as the article also
states. Bed bugs are serious and youıd do well to have a Pest Control
Operator who knows bed bugs come in and treat your home properly from
step one. Donıt believe me? Ask people in the forums.

I never let pest control people on my property. They will spray
your place with deadly chemicals that cause you and your family and
pets to die young with horrible cancer.

Please be green and do NOT allow pest control people on your
property. They are the worst offenders at poisoning our planet.

Just curious how many times you have heard "family and
pets to die young with horrible cancer." from pest control service.
I'll spot you one when a lady, her heart stopped after entering her home
after returning home from hospital from heart problems to an illegal
pest service she paid for. But impossible to say if the chemicals were
truly to blame or if it was bad timing and her life time was up.

Actually nature would be the worse offender of poisoning our planet.
It's been a very active volcanic cycle.
