I work at a school that has 2 Viewsonic n3250w LCD monitors in the
main lobby for announcements, etc. One of them, after being on for a
little more than 1hr will go into a "standby" mode. The audio will go
off and the screen will go almost completely dim, you can still see
the picture, but barely. I have gone through the menus and find no
setting for this or any way to turn it off. The strange thing is that
the other LCD display has never had this issue.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on how to resolve
it?

Erm... You have turned off the monitor settings for power savings, right?
You didn't specify your OS.

I guess I need to clarify, then. The 2 displays are mounted in the
school's lobby. VGA cables run back to an office where they connect to
a computer (WinXP SP2). It was just suggested to me to turn off all
power saving settings, i will see if that works. The speakers for the
audio are on the monitor itself. When the one display goes into this
"standby" state, the audio goes off.

I would expect to see that behavior when power management kicks in. The
onboard amp in monitors I've worked on also have power management, which
is controlled by the LCD controller. You might try swapping the VGA cables
at the monitor ends and see if the problem follows one of the VGA ports.
