I have wired a stat on a Biasi similar to this....

the manual states that i should connect a room thermo stats to the
terminal 1 and 3.

Yup. Without a stat fitten there is a loop of wire that joins 1 to 3. To
fit a stat you have it such that its contacts are between 1 and 3. When
they close the boiler fires (if permitted by the timer)

the thermostat stat it self has more than 2 connections.

Sounds like an eletromechanical stat that requires a neutral as well. If
you want to use this then you need to wire it with multicore cable and
take a neutral to it as well (without the neutral it will still work but
you will get large temperature swings between its on/off cycles making
the house rather uncomfortable. You can collect a neutral from the
"mains in" terminal block directly adjacent to the stat one.

it doesn't actually say what wire should be connected to which
terminal.

does any one know what those two wires are for. on the thermo stat
there is L, N and eath

You would in reality be better off with a programmable stat like:

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/...17585&ts=82132

These only need a two wire connection and allow for much greater
flexibility in the control of the house temperature. If fitting one of
these then you can basically create one "program" on the boilers timer
to allow the boiler to run all the time, then deligate the actual
control of the boiler to the stat.
