I disagree. A vehicle positioned towards the center of the road shows
adequate intention. A signal added to that position will very often be
seen as an intention to turn right at a junction, driveway or a move to
park on the right. This does lead to other drivers passing on the left.


Not if you were to pull far enough forward to the obstruction as to
prevent them passing on your left.
