In support of Mr Bitsey, I would say they might consider passing you
on the left. Any following driver worth his salt ought to be looking
for additonal confirming pointers that you did indeed intend to make a
right turn, such as your head movements, positioning on the road,
turning front wheels, plus an actual right turn and etc..
But if they pass me on the left they're going to run into a bloody
parked car, aren't they? That's the whole point of the situation!
That would depend upon how far back you need to wait from the car such
as to retain a good view forward past the car. Every such situation is
unique and part of the skill is finding the right balance which allows
you to indicate and leaves following drivers clear on your intentions.
Once you've figured out how your indicators work, that is.
