Default Drilling

A hole that size can prove taxing on a motor. I do 1" holes for my
peppermills, I bought an extension for my forstner bit, it was all
dimar stuff, so there is no play.
What size motor are you using?
The alternative I have used in the past is auger bits in a brace.
Cheap, but not fun.

I would like to make a 1 1/4" wide hole 10 1/2" deep. Trying to do this on
the lathe is proving more difficult than I would have thought. I'm drilling
into rounded stock. Trying to hold it on the drill press didn't prove
successful either. Any suggestions appreciated.
