Sorry John, but I think that is an absolutely ridiculous article.

I've been veggie for 17 years (since I was 16). I don't go round trying
to 'convert' people, and rarely tell people what my views are. I have my
reasons, and that's that. Most vegetarians that I have (knowingly) come
into contact with are much the same.

I think that article looks at the 'celebrity' flavour of vegetarianism,
and judges all vegetarians against that standard.

I'm curious why the author has such a been in his/her bonnet about the
subject.
